"At the same time, ICE must learn from the tragic, violent confrontations with protesters in recent weeks and adjust its tactics and procedures to prevent future loss of civilian life when carrying out these missions"

  • The Trump administrationSaid

Asked by a state senator during his Feb. 18, 2026 address to the Alaska Legislature whether he would say no to Trump, Sullivan said his guide in dealing with the administration is what is good for Alaska and the country, that he sometimes criticizes it in public, and he named federal funding freezes and worker layoffs as areas of disagreement.

"When they do things that I don't like, there's times that I will beat them up in public."

"We're now beginning to see the beginnings of a real comeback and real progress on goals we've dreamed about collectively for decades"

  • Social Security and MedicareSaid

In the Oct. 15, 2026 debate, Sullivan said he never voted to raise the retirement age and that people receiving Social Security should keep getting their current benefits.

"we need to make sure it's a lockbox. They're going to get what they continue to have. You can't touch it"

Alaska's final U.S. Senate debate devolves into mudslinging between Peltola, Sullivan, Alaska Beacon, October 15, 2026

Pick who you're calling and what you want to talk about. Offices log calls by issue and position, so a clear ask from a constituent is what gets counted.

Your script

Hi, my name is ____, and I'm a constituent from ____, ZIP ____.

I'm calling about AIPAC money, ICE and checks and balances.

I want my senator to refuse money from AIPAC PAC and United Democracy Project, and to say so publicly.

I want my senator to vote against more money for ICE detention and enforcement.

I want my senator to use Congress's oversight power, including hearings, subpoenas and votes, whichever party is in charge.

Please record my position. Thank you for your time.

    Tips for calling
    • Call your own senators and representative. Offices mostly count calls from their own voters.
    • Say your ZIP so the call counts as a constituent.
    • You'll talk to a staff member, not the official. That's normal: they log your call.
    • One or two issues per call is best.
    • Voicemail counts. Offices go through it every day.
    • If the D.C. office is busy, try a state office, or the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.
    • Call again next week.
