On the record

  • IsraelSaid

In an interview reported by NHPR on Aug. 7, 2026, Pappas said U.S.-Israel relations are at a turning point. He explained his July 2026 "present" vote on a House amendment to cut $3 billion in U.S. aid to Israel, and said he hopes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is replaced.

"This is a moment for a reset in that relationship."

Pappas says U.S.-Israel relations at turning point, as primary rival blasts AIPAC ties, New Hampshire Public Radio, August 7, 2026

  • ICESaid

In an Oct. 9, 2026 NHPR interview, Pappas called the administration's immigration enforcement an overreach, said he has opposed giving ICE more funding without oversight and proposed moving that money to local police, and said ICE should not operate with unidentified officers or without training and body cameras.

"So I've opposed legislation to give ICE a blank check."

Conversations with the candidates: Pappas on housing, affordability, AI and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 9, 2026

  • The Trump administrationSaid

In his Sept. 8, 2026 primary victory speech, Pappas cited tariffs, reduced health care subsidies and high gas and grocery prices, and responded to President Trump's description of the economy as a "golden age."

"Well, I think he’s living on another planet because does this feel like a golden age to you?"

Pappas and Sununu prevail in primaries, setting up expensive fight for U.S. Senate, New Hampshire Bulletin, September 8, 2026

  • Where they want the country to goSaid

Asked in an Oct. 9, 2026 NHPR interview how he would lower costs as a senator, Pappas said his approach is to oppose the administration's policies while building bipartisan coalitions like the one behind the 2026 housing bill.

"this is both about holding the line against the reckless policies of this administration and finding opportunities to work in a bipartisan fashion to deliver results"

Conversations with the candidates: Pappas on housing, affordability, AI and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 9, 2026

  • Foreign policyVoted

On Sept. 15, 2026, Pappas voted yes on H.Con.Res. 93, a war powers resolution directing the president to remove U.S. armed forces from hostilities with Iran. It passed the House 220-204.

Roll call: Roll Call 307 | Bill Number: H. Con. Res. 93, Office of the Clerk, U.S. House of Representatives, September 15, 2026

  • Social Security and MedicareSaid

In an Oct. 9, 2026 NHPR interview, Pappas said he opposes cutting Social Security benefits, wants a bipartisan commission on the program's future, and wants people earning $1 million a year or more to pay more into it.

"People can't afford a cut in benefits. That's a nonstarter for me."

Conversations with the candidates: Pappas on housing, affordability, AI and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 9, 2026

  • TechnologySaid

In an Oct. 9, 2026 NHPR interview, Pappas called for federal AI regulation, including approval before models are made public, minimum safety standards and liability for tech companies, and said towns should be able to reject data center proposals.

"Congress needs to act to set up guardrails that will regulate big tech, that will regulate AI"

Conversations with the candidates: Pappas on housing, affordability, AI and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 9, 2026

  • Money in politicsSaid

At a Manchester campaign event in late August 2026, Pappas promoted the DISCLOSE Act, which he sponsored in the House and which would require groups to disclose political donors who give more than $10,000, and said he does not take corporate PAC money.

"the power should be in the hands of the people, not monied corporate special interests"

Pappas is making campaign finance part of his US Senate bid. His opponents cry hypocrisy., New Hampshire Bulletin, September 3, 2026

On the record

  • IsraelSaid

Asked in an Aug. 27, 2026 NHPR interview what role the Senate should play in the Iran war, Sununu said the Senate should push to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, keep Iran from a nuclear weapon, and support Israel-Lebanon negotiations aimed at disarming Hezbollah.

"supporting the negotiations between Israel and Lebanon that are ongoing right now to dismantle and disarm Hezbollah"

  • ICESaid

In an NHPR interview published Oct. 16, 2026, Sununu said he favors more ICE reform, including body cameras for all officers, better training and oversight, and said due process applies whether or not a person is a citizen.

Conversations with the candidates: Sununu on energy, immigration, Russia and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 16, 2026

  • The Trump administrationSaid

Asked in an NHPR interview published Oct. 16, 2026 about the Trump administration's approach to Russia, Sununu said it has been too close to Russia, that sanctions should have come sooner, and that he hopes the U.S. will give Ukraine intelligence and military aid. He also called Trump's deal to import Russian diesel "a bad idea."

"It has been too close. They haven't done enough to support Ukraine."

Conversations with the candidates: Sununu on energy, immigration, Russia and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 16, 2026

  • Where they want the country to goSaid

Asked in an Aug. 27, 2026 NHPR interview whether he would go against the president, who endorsed him, Sununu said Congress has given presidents of both parties too much power over spending and tariffs, and should take some of it back on a bipartisan basis.

"So Congress needs to step up, review those powers that they've given to the executive and in a bipartisan way, take back the power that was granted to Congress in the first place."

Primary conversations: Sununu says Congress should take back powers from executive branch, New Hampshire Public Radio, August 27, 2026

  • Foreign policySaid

In an Aug. 27, 2026 NHPR interview, asked whether he would support more money for the Iran war, Sununu said he does not support putting U.S. ground troops in, and that going in without a plan to protect the Strait of Hormuz was a mistake.

"I certainly said that it was a mistake to go in in the first place without having a plan for protecting the Strait of Hormuz."

Primary conversations: Sununu says Congress should take back powers from executive branch, New Hampshire Public Radio, August 27, 2026

  • Social Security and MedicareSaid

In an NHPR interview published Oct. 16, 2026, Sununu said Social Security's solvency should be addressed through a bipartisan bill that guarantees retirees' benefits. He declined to name specific proposals, saying the other side would use them to scare retirees.

"I never voted to cut benefits, and I never will."

Conversations with the candidates: Sununu on energy, immigration, Russia and more, New Hampshire Public Radio, October 16, 2026

  • ImmigrationSaid

In an NHPR interview published Oct. 16, 2026, Sununu said the border is now secure and proposed changing legal immigration programs: more seasonal and health care visas, and tighter limits on H-1B tech visas.

Pick who you're calling and what you want to talk about. Offices log calls by issue and position, so a clear ask from a constituent is what gets counted.

Your script

Hi, my name is ____, and I'm a constituent from ____, ZIP ____.

I'm calling about AIPAC money, ICE and checks and balances.

I want my senator to refuse money from AIPAC PAC and United Democracy Project, and to say so publicly.

I want my senator to vote against more money for ICE detention and enforcement.

I want my senator to use Congress's oversight power, including hearings, subpoenas and votes, whichever party is in charge.

Please record my position. Thank you for your time.

    Tips for calling
    • Call your own senators and representative. Offices mostly count calls from their own voters.
    • Say your ZIP so the call counts as a constituent.
    • You'll talk to a staff member, not the official. That's normal: they log your call.
    • One or two issues per call is best.
    • Voicemail counts. Offices go through it every day.
    • If the D.C. office is busy, try a state office, or the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.
    • Call again next week.
